Atletico rise, big guns misfire

Atletico Madrid took advantage of Barcelona's slip-up to go to the top of the LaLiga table with a 4-0   victory against Real Sociedad as Real Madrid also drew 1-1 against Athletic Bilbao and Cristiano Ronaldo was unfortunately sent off on Sunday.

Atletico moved three points clear of Barcelona with a victory over Sociedad where the fans gave a emotional send-off to former player and coach Luis Aragones who died on Saturday.

Rising from the Shadows-

Many doubted Atletico Madrid's ability to sustain their good start but as the season has progressed, they have toughened.  With Real Madrid and Barcelona stumbled this weekend, Atletico's win took them over to the top spot.

Lets have a look over the star performers-

Diego Costa-  Costa has been a controversial player in the recent times as he has been in trouble with the referees because of his agressiveness on the field. But at the same time he has been playing well also for the side and has been very effective with 20 goals in 22 matches.

Koke-  Koke has been one of the most creative young mid-fielders in the Spanish team and the LaLiga. He makes sure that forwars Costa and David Villa are never short of supply. He is dubbed as the " Future Xavi Of Spain" by many of the fans and would turn out to be a vital part of the team in the future as well.

Thibaut Courtois-

The Atletico's goal-warrior just as the last season, has shown great show this season also. Winning the Zamora prize for conceding the least number of goals in the League, he would be possibly winning the same this season as he has only allowed 14 balls to pass into his goal. And Atletico would be permanently signing him in the summer.

Simoene, The Miracle Man

Everyday, Atletico train for an intense 45 minutes with Diego Simone having a look over he entire process. And they train the same way they play, putting everything on the pitch. Unlike rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, training time isn't "Beautiful" specially when Simoene in having a watch on the players.

Improving step by step-

Inspite of selling some of their prized assets, they have won two Europe titiles, one Copa Del Ray and two UEFA Super Cups.
They are currently in the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League and are one of those teams who reached that stage undefeated.
