ManUtd v Fulham -Preview and Predictions

Rene Meulensteen faces his former side at his former home

The occasion at Old Trafford will indeed hold a special place in the heart of former Manchester United assistant coach Rene Meulensteen, whose relegation threatened Fulham have slipped into the 20th place of the League table. And after Martin Jol's disavowing some months ago,Fulham appointed Rene in hope of turning things around but things have seemingly gone bad to worse for the Londoners.Pretty much like the side which they will take on Sunday-Manchester United, who have not been able to start things off well after the significant capture of Juan Mata, owing to a latest 2-1 defeat on the hands of Stoke City.Injuries have been having an adverse affect on how United have fared this season and a recent mismanagement of tactics by David Moyes has also resulted in these recent poor run of results. And after some significant additions to Fulham's side United should be braced up for a "not so easy encounter " at Old Trafford.

Team News

David Moyes' recent heartaches and heart breaks have been caused by injuries sustained by several of their key members and rightly so,United will be without some key figures in Jonny Evans and Phil Jones ,who have been instrumental in how United have progressed so far this season. But,the good news says that Rio Ferdinand and off color summer signing Marouane Fellaini are fit and may feature against the Londoners. On the other hand,Fulham will step onto the green Old Trafford pitch without any concerning injury issues and will look to somehow take ManUtd to their limits and give them a hard time. And the inclusion of new signings Lewis Holtby and Kostas Mitroglou will help them to achieve what they will want to achieve at the Theatre of Dreams.

Expected Line-ups

Manchester United-
De Gea;Rafael,Smalling,Ferdinand,Evra;Carrick,Fellaini;Januzaj,Rooney,Mata;van Persie

Fulham-
Stekelenburg;Riise,Senderos,Hangeland,Reither;Sidwell,Parker;Dejagah,Holtby,Kasami,
Mitroglou

Prediction
United have been recently accused of handing over 3 points to oppositions but in this game,United must forget about the fact that they will play the 20th placed side. They must be at their best against wobbly Fulham but must be aware of the quickness Holtby will provide upfront to Rene's men. Mitroglou will hold a key role for Fulham and Juan Mata will do the same for the Red Devils.Fulham will give United a hard time on the ball and like the last time around, possession of the ball will be instrumental in the game's result.

We'll predict a 2-1 win for United, with Fulham pressurizing in the later stages.
