Allegri gets the boot after defeat to newly promoted side
Allegri' s side lost 4-3 to Sasuolo |
After conceding successive defeats which have left the Italian giants at a disastrous 11th spot,Ac Milan officials have, quite rightly axed Manager Massimiliano Allegri.
After paving way for newly promoted Sasuolo ,who beat them 4-3,club officials have confirmed the sacking of Allegri.Although,Allegri had already proclaimed publically that he'd leave the "in decline" Italian side once the season ends but a series of disappointing performances have ended Allegri' s run of 4 years at Ac Milan.
Milan sit at a disastrous 11th spot and lag 30 points behind League leaders Juventus and lag a good 20 points behind third placed Napoli. But,Allegri did win his ever Serie A title during his first season at the helm but the decline of the 9 time Champions League winners has come sooner than expected
A statement on the Milan website said: "AC Milan announces that it has dismissed as coach of the first team, with immediate effect, Mr Massimiliano Allegri and his staff.
"AC Milan would like to thank Mr Allegri and his staff for the work done and wishes them the best professional success. The team will be run on a caretaker basis by Mr Mauro Tassotti.
Milan barely qualified for this season's Champions League and due to some speck of luck, qualified for the next round following a goal less draw at Ajax.
Allegri' s sacking has paved way for new gaffers to take charge as the likes of Andre Vilas Boas,Fillipo Inzaghi and Paolo di Canio look to be the favorites to take over the throne.
