Former Milan midfielder has sealed the vacant spot
Following a recent run of poor results,Milan sacked Masimiliano Allegri and were reportedly on the verge of appointing Fillipo Inzaghi or Andre Villas Boas. But,a series of unpredictable events have lead to the appointing of former veteran midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who had already admitted that he will become the new manager of the Serie A strugglers.
The Dutchman has been the first player to win the Champions League with three different sides, those being Real Madrid,Ajax and AC Milan.Although, his exploits are well renowned but I personally feel that AC Milan are taking a colossal risk in appointing him as their manager.
Seedorf himself revealed during a press conference near Rio de Janiero that he's set to be appointed as the coach of Milan and also proclaimed that he'll officially retire after taking up his new post.
"I am here to announce that I will retire from playing after 22 years," said Seedorf.
"It has been a difficult decision, but I am satisfied with what I have achieved in my career. Here at Botafogo I am happy because I leave a team which has qualified for the (Copa) Libertadores.
"I leave an improved club, especially in terms of their mentality and team spirit.
"Yes, I will be the coach at Milan."
"Considering my relationship with the
president (Silvio Berlusconi) when he called me yesterday I couldn't say no after 10 years spent there. My aim is to dream again."
The current Botafogo star has been playing a key role for the Brazilian side, who finished 4th last season and has scored 16 goals in 56 appearances for them.
A prominent product of the famous Ajax Youth Academy ,Seedorf had made more than 300 appearances for the then Milan giants and was known for being an accurate passer
