Always Alone
Goal Keepers are loners. As if they are of a different breed as compared to the other team members. They spend majority time of the game far away, detached from the action.
They train alone.
They wear a different shirt to their team- mates.

They have a different rule for them as they are the only one who can pick up the ball during the match.
Their sense of solitude is felt even more whenever awards are being given.
FIFA Ballon d'Or is given to the best player of Europe. This prestigious award has been given to the players since last 57 years. Unfortunately, only one Goal Keeper has been given this award.
Dynamo Moscow,
one of the best GK's of all times said that he would smoke a cigarette to relax and have a couple of glasses of stiff drinks to tone his muscles. Everyone was doubtful that how much that pre- match ritual aided his performance. There can be no question that he made a big mark on the history of goalkeeping, thanks to his exceptional drive and motivation which pushed him to strive for more.
The point is that Goal Keepers are equally important in the team but they are not given equal importance according to me. Every goal keeper has a dream to become a legend but at present they are not given equal attention and importance which I think they deserve.
