There is no shortage of rumors lurking around
The Englishman has been linked with a move to other clubs |
The month of January is known for not being a good period for doing business and there's no wonder why managers are not interested in landing players in this month. But,this January has been a bit lopsided as we have already seen some major moves being completed within a limited period .The much awaited move for Nemanja Matic materialized and so did Nikica Jelavic's.But,the rumors which are suggesting big moves can be considered absurd and awkward for the above mentioned reasons. So,here are some transfer deals that would not take place this January-
5.Adam Lallana -Southampton to Liverpool,United and Arsenal
After Southampton officially confirmed that chairman Nicola Cortese has resigned, reports started surfacing that Southampton will look to offload most-wanted stars Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw. But the possibility of these stars leaving looks irrelevant. Both of them have been the standout performers for Saints and Lallana, who has been among the goals and assists looks unlikely to move. And as far as his inclusion in the side is concerned,Southampton have already stated that they'd look to hold onto the 25 year old starlet. But 18 year old Luke Shaw is still coy over his links with Man United,City and Chelsea. And quite rightly Shaw's move looks eminent.
4.Wayne Rooney -Manchester United to Chelsea
Although Chelsea fans would love to see Wayne Rooney at Stamford Bridge but a transfer this January looks uncertain.Rooney's performances have been phenomenal for the Red Devils and he's the one responsible for the fact that United are still somehow clinging to their title.Chelsea had registered two bids for the 28 year old and United never really entertained any one of them.Reports streaming in suggest that United have failed twice to lay him down to pen a new deal and the previous summer the same reports suggested that he's desperate to move to Chelsea. And some state that in case United don't make it to the Champions League,Rooney will push through to move to Chelsea. But,the move is quite evident and forthcoming but will only happen once the season draws to an end.
3.Sergio Aguero -Manchester City to Real Madrid
If reports are to be believed,Real Madrid had identified Sergio Aguero as their top-priority target given the fact that Los Blancos had sold Gonzalo Higuain and their other striker Karim Benzema has looked rather off-color.And thanks to Aguero ,City have enjoyed a boastfully outrageous form at home after scoring buckets of goals against Man United,Arsenal,Norwich and the likes. He's been pivotal to their League position and along with Negredo ,has ripped apart opposition defences.Manager Manuel Pellegrini will very well know how important Aguero has been for the Citizens and despite of them having Stefan Jovetic and Negredo,he still has emerged as their No.1 striker. The deal won't happen for several years to come giventhe fact that Aguero penned down a new long term contract an year ago.
2.Marco Reus -Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United
The exciting Germany International's performances have caught the eye balls of big clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal and reports suggested that United are ready to break the bank for the 24 year old. After the departure of star striker Robert Lewandowski was officially confirmed ,Manchester United's hopes of landing Reus were dealt a firm blow. Both of them were crucial figures in how Dortmund have fared through the years in the Bundesliga and Dortmund would never be interested to offload another prized asset to a fellow Champions League rival. And considering the fact that Jurgen Klopp has already insisted that they are not letting Reus go,the possibility of a deal being completed looks bleak.
1.Radamel Falcao -AS Monaco to Chelsea
After sealing a big money move to newly rich and promoted Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, reports suggested that the side would have sell off Falcao due to some on-going wage problem in France. And immediately after these rumors came the news of Chelsea being alerted and interested sparked. And the Blues were believed to splash cash on the Colombian, who has featured just 15 times for the 3rd place AS Monaco and has still managed to score 9 times. And not every player is Adebayo Akinfenwa as Falcao just secured a move to the newly promoted club, who also threw cash on Joao Moutinho.Monaco do know that their bid to claim a Champions League spot will be alive if they hold onto the 27 year old,as he himself and Joao Moutinho have been central figures in their performances this season.Chelsea do need a quality striker but I think pursuing their interest in Radamel Falcao is nothing short of a waste of time.
